The Prophet, peace be upon him, said in an authentic narration: "This Hadeeth was narrated by Sa'd ibn Abi Waqqaas, may Allah be pleased with him, in the Saheehayn of Imam al-Bukhaari and Imam Muslim, may Allah have mercy on them. Our Scholars said that the 'Ajwah dates not only prevent magic and illness but also play a role in curing a Muslim who is already suffering from magic. They therefore recommend eating 7 'Ajwah dates every morning (possibly in combination with Ruqyah, such as reciting Soorat al-Faatihah seven times), until the sick person is completely cured.
